Call for LSS 2019 Organising Committee

Would you like to take part in an innovative Leadership Training event?
Are you keen to develop your personal and professional skills whilst empowering youth leaders from over 30 European and international organizations?
Are you enthusiastic, flexible, friendly and a good motivator?

…then Leadership Summer School is the event for YOU!
Every year in July, we gather 60 to 80 students, young graduates and young professionals aged 18 to 35, and 16 trainers from all paths of life and fields of studies, and from all over the globe, in one venue, with one aim… to develop and inspire the leaders of tomorrow, today. For the past years LSS had led the way in multi-disciplinary student leadership events!


LSS is made possible by the collaboration of around 20+ different student organizations, with central coordination and support from Zero Generation.  Every year we look for ways to develop and improve this exciting event and this year should prove to be another awesome experience.

For the next edition, we are looking for a motivated and proficient Organizing Committee in an exciting country; a team that will be able to make this event as successful as the previous ones and enhance participants experience.

Apply to host LSS 2019
… and don’t just keep it for yourself! 
Partner up with other NGOs! Collaboration is one of the core elements of LSS, we are looking for different NGOs cooperating to make LSS2019 a shared success on a local level.
Here’s what we are expecting from you, the Organizing Committee, to be able to provide:

  • food and accommodation for about 100 people (60 participants / 16 trainers / organizers) for minimum 9 nights (+ 4 extra nights for trainers)
  • all the necessary training materials (post-its, markers, paper, flip charts,…)
  • 4 training rooms, plus 1 working room for Trainers and 1 for OC event’s logistics
  • creative social/evening program
  • Period 8-31 July 2019
  • support LSS Supervisory Board in writing grants and raising funds from local cooperation with companies
  • open-mindedness and a sense for adventure in implementing ideas
  • the OC President will be invited to join Supervisory Board and be part of LSS2019 decision making process

LSS 2016 Open Call for Participants

Do you want to inspire people?
Do you have plans to lead a project in your NGO?
Do you think that the word “leader” describes you?
Interested? 

Why does LSS exist?

Many international organisations, representing various backgrounds and disciplines, often share similar goals to improve the skills of their members, knowledge transfer, continuity and internal communication.

The Leadership Summer School project was born to fulfil perceived needs related to development and/or improvement of their training culture, leaders readiness to manage their organisation and networking with diverse youth associations. This interdisciplinary event became a training platform for active youth volunteers.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for 60 highly motivated and active, students and young professionals who want to participate in a challenging learning event.

When and Where?

LSS will take place in Pitesti, Romania from 16th to 25th of July 2016.

What about the fee?

The fee will be 250 EUR for students and 350 EUR for young working professionals which includes:
— accommodation in the centre of the city;
— food (3 meals per day + coffee breaks);
— transport for LSS activities;
— and some social activities.

If selected to participate in the event, you will be requested to deposit 50% of the participation fee (125 EUR for students and 175 EUR for young professionals) as a confirmation. This deposit is non-refundable. The pending amount can be paid before or at the event. Further details will be communicated after selection is over.

We are not able to provide scholarship or any form of discount.

LSS 2016 Supervisory Board

The LSS 2016 Supervisory Board is composed by people coming from Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, Romania.

Lyda Michopoulou, member of Zero Generation and AEGEE, Alumna of IAAS – LSS Coordinator:
This means:
– responsible of the communication towards CP, IFISO and the general coordination of LSS.
– coordinating the promotion, selection, confirmation and announcement of trainers
– coordinating the selection process of LSS trainers and participants
– supporting all SB members having to deal with partnership (OC, Trainers,…)

Milda Latakaite, member of Zero Generation and Alumna of EGEA – Responsible of the Communication towards Trainers, Participants, Externals:
This means:
– interacting with people asking questions through e-mail.
– engaging the world about Leadership Summer School through our communication means together with PR
– coordinating the promotion, selection, confirmation and announcement of participants
– answering questions about application, selection and announcement of future participants

Claudia Rock, PR Responsible, Alumna of EGEA:
This means:
– engaging the world about Leadership Summer School through all online communication channels
– ensuring that communications stay up to date via facebook, website etc.

Armina Sîrbu co-founder of Școala de Valori and Alumna of AIESEC, Main organiser on behalf of Școala de Valori
This means:

– developing partnership strategy with companies and institutions
– coordinating the FR effort for LSS
– organising the logistic for LSS to happen as smoothly as possible
– ensuring that communication stays smooth with OC members
– ensuring that every logistic challenge finds a solution
– facilitating communication between OC and SB
